House & Furniture

So we've been in our house for a while now and it's finally getting a personality.

Here are some snaps of our beachy bathroom, with some photo frames I white washed and distressed to add texture. The panoramic shot is of my dog Alfie and is featured in Halcrow's 2011 Corporate Calendar.
There are now a few splashes of colour around the house to break up the vast amount of Magnolia walls. The brown wall has the added feature of some beautiful vinyl wall stickers that I found online and I am so pleased with the crisp line outcome. Next after not liking the previous two colours I created my own shade of green and its perfect with our lovely second hand limed oak sideboard. Finally there is a bold splash of purple. It's only a small wall so it's not to out there but I intend to keep adding to the hand painted black photo frames with my black & white prints as I love my photo memories being on display.

After all these small creative projects and a few months research I have decided that I really want to take the next step and start painting and redesigning old furniture. My first project is going to be this tatty bed frame. It's a lovely solid frame but has seen a fair amount of use and now needs some TLC. Hopefully all will go well and this will lead to a new career redesigning and rejuvenating furniture to sell on. That's the plan anyway so watch this space and wish me luck!
